A lighter look at the news

Oh dear, someone across the pond, got a druuuubbbing at their midterm elections. Surprisingly, for the moment at least, there hasn't been any foaming at the mouth, no accusations of cheating, no 'fake' results.

At least, not that we know of. Behind the scenes, there could well be a red tsunami, the likes of which you have never seen. Not, alas, the likes that the inhabitants of the house were hoping to see, but a red tsunami of the ketchup variety, that is rumoured to happen whenever the main man is unhappy and having a tantrum (dee dums.)

Instead, he appears to be quietly channelling his inner Shaggy with the refrain, 'It wasn't me'

Were you at those rallies telling people to pretend that it was you on the ballot? It wasn't me.

Were you at those rallies, drooling over some men's gluteus maximus?

To this there may be a different answer.

Ah yes, Gluteus Maximus, I know him, big guy...strong guy. He came to me with tears in his eyes.

SIR, he said, you are the best, better than all the rest.

Then he turned and walked away and I noticed that he had a great ass.

Anyway, you might think that in the midst of being engulfed in a blue tsunami, there might be some sort of introspection. You would be wrong.  He's gone back to talking about the ballroom. A bit like Nero playing a fiddle, except in this case, it is probably a harp.

Someone this side of the pond, also faced their day of reckoning. Russel Brand was found guilty and is behind bars, awaiting a prison sentence. His, when all else fails, turn to Jesus approach, doesn't seem to have worked. Maybe Jesus was on the side of the women who had to put up with this arrogant man and his foul behaviour.

Nevertheless, I am sure his healthy lifestyle will be accommodated in prison, especially his access to cold plunges.

Until next week, try and keep it light.
